My Leadership Journey

Looking back across more than four decades, I realize my career has never followed a straight line—it has followed a purpose.

What began as a passion for economics, aviation, and public policy evolved into opportunities to lead organizations, strengthen industries, and create innovative workforce solutions. Along the way, I embraced new opportunities, balanced career and family, navigated industry disruption, and experienced the privilege of being recognized for the impact of my work.

Yet, when I reflect on the moments that have been most meaningful, they are rarely defined by a title, an award, or a successful project. They are defined by the people whose lives were changed—the student who earned a doctorate, the woman who discovered her leadership potential, the entrepreneur who launched a business, the individual with autism who found meaningful employment, or the organization that became stronger because its people grew stronger.

Over time, I discovered that my true passion was never simply economics, aviation, manufacturing, or workforce development. Those became the vehicles through which I pursued a much larger purpose: developing people, building leaders, and creating opportunities that strengthen organizations, industries, and communities.

Today, I continue that journey with the same curiosity and enthusiasm that inspired me at the beginning of my career. I believe leadership is not measured by the positions we hold, but by the opportunities we create for others to learn, grow, and succeed. My greatest hope is that the knowledge, relationships, and experiences I have gained will continue to empower the next generation of leaders and leave every organization and community stronger than I found it.

Every chapter of my career has prepared me for the next. If my journey has taught me anything, it is that the strongest organizations, industries, and communities are built by investing in people. Today, my greatest privilege is helping others write their own success stories.
